Founder of Family Healing Center, Dr. Montano oversees his patients who reside in our subacute detox. He has longstanding experience with Detoxification or “Detox” which is vital to recovery. He monitors patients who are on medication and conducts physical assessments on all patients. In addition to his vast medical experience, Dr. Montano brings warmth, understanding and offers guidance to families to help them better understand the physical aspects of addiction recovery. Addiction can place such tremendous physical stress and pose certain dangers to the individual. He Says, “It is my goal to get them through the process safely, humanely.”
“My approach to treating patients with Addictive Disorders is to treat the whole person, after a full assessment of his/her present and past history. I treat every patient with the same respect and understanding as i would a patient with any others medical condition. They need to be guide toward their own recovery process. With our greatest advances of medications we can assist the person in recovering from the use of Alcohol and /or Drugs.
There are many co-existing psychiatric and physical illness associated with addiction and they also need to be diagnosed adequately to be able to treat them, so the patient can feel more centered and strong enough to stay sober the rest of his life.
In our program we treat many patients who happened to get addicted to narcotic/opiates after an injury/accident or after an operation. It is not their fault, considering approximately 20% of the general population will eventually become addicted to the narcotics. There is great hope for these patients to release themselves from this addiction.”
